Gluten Free DIY Brown Rice Flour Mix

Gluten Free DIY Brown Rice Flour Mix

Due to my high blood pressure, I am not going to consume any white rice. Usually those 1:1 substitute gluten free mix on the market contain white rice flour and/or sweet rice flour. In this case, here is the DIY gluten free mix using brown rice flour, potato starch, and tapioca flour. You will be surprised how moist the bakes will turn out. I omit xanthan gum in this mix. You will need to add xanthan gum into your bake depending on what you are making.

Ingredients

  1. 4 cups brown rice flour
  2. 2 cups unmodified potato starch from Judee’s From Scratch
  3. 2 cups modified tapioca flour from Judee’s From Scratch

Steps

  1. Mix all the gluten free flours and starches in a large bowl and store in a container. It is ready to use when you need it. Have fun baking!
